The Habilitation Conference is responsible for implementing the habilitation (post-doctoral degree) procedure and the decisions to be made in it, unless otherwise stipulated in the Habilitation Regulations of the Faculty of Modern Languages.

Members of the Habilitation Conference

The Habilitation Conference consists of all professors, university lecturers and private-docents (Privatdozenten) who belong to the Faculty and who work full-time at the University, as well as of dismissed professors and retired professors, so long as they do not waive their membership in the Habilitation Conference. In addition, at least one professor, and generally two professors, from other faculties shall join as voting members to evaluate habilitation theses. These are nominated by the respective faculty at the request of the Dean.

The chairperson of the Habilitation Conference is the Dean or his/her representative. The chairperson has voting rights.
